Jon Lawton

I have had a passion for sport since my youth where I enjoyed lots of success across a variety of sports. Since the age of 14 I have worked within the leisure industry and obtained a Sports Science and Management Degree from Loughborough University in 2005.

I have worked within private, commercial and public settings so bring a wealth of experience to my role as Studio manager to help facilitate the dance school and create a timetable and environment which helps the pupils achieve their dreams.

Miss Lou

I started dancing at the age of 2 and quickly came to love it, I spent most of my childhood competing across the country in festivals, championships and bursaries. I was lucky enough to study the 3 major dance associations IDTA, ISTD and RAD and was selected on many occasions to audition for scholarships within the IDTA.

At the age of 12 I became a student teacher at Livingston Academy and ran a small branch of the school, giving me the opportunity to fulfil my potential as a teacher. At the age of 18 I gained my teachers qualifications making me a full member of the IDTA.

Between the age of 18 and 21 I worked as a promotion dancer giving me the opportunity to dance at many exciting venues including the Clothes Show, I also got involved in television work including GMTV and Dangerfield. During this time I was lucky enough to work with The Birmingham Royal Ballet in Coppelia, but my heart always led me back to teaching and choreography and in Jan 2000 I opened The Dance Factory.

The Dance Factory has given me the opportunity to pass on my love of dance and the arts to many children and my aim is to continue doing this to the highest standards for many years to come.

Miss Eve

I started my dance journey at The Dance Factory at the age of 3, throughout the years Louise and Natasha have provided me with a safe and loving, learning environment which has allowed me to become the dancer and person I am today.

Over the years I have competed in many competitions including Miss Dance of Great Britain heats and regional championships, winning trophies and bursaries. I completed my IDTA dance exams over the years and was nominated to take part in the IDTA scholarships on many occasions.

At the age of 17 I moved to London to attend The Urdang Academy, gaining my level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Dance. I soon realised my love for dance was with teaching and passing on my passion and knowledge to the younger generations.

Louise then guided me through my IDTA teaching exams which I achieved in 2020. I feel so lucky to be able to come back to the place I learnt to dance and teach the next generation. I will be forever grateful for the love, care and opportunities Louise and The Dance Factory have given me over the years.

Miss Amy

My route into dancing really started with my mum wanting some peace and quiet on a Saturday morning, starting off as just a hobby I eventually fell in love! As I got older I completed lots of IDTA exams and was nominated for scholarships many times. Alongside competitions, shows, championships, bursaries and classes, the true family feel of the Dance Factory is what’s important.

Dancing gave me structure, drive and discipline which has shaped me into the person I am today. I went on to train at Doreen Bird College in London for 3 years and gained a Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre working alongside industry professionals and continuing my career as a performer.

After graduating I went to work for Disney Cruise Line where I lived my best life entertaining and working with children. Being back teaching at The Dance Factory is amazing, in 2020 I gained 3 teachers qualifications in Ballet, Freestyle and Progressive Ballet Techniques with many more to come!

The kids I teach are my absolute passion and they truly are my second family. As many will tell you I am ‘Crazy Miss Amy’ and I’m so grateful to be part of The Dance Factory.
